Old Moivaro Schoolhouse (2007) New "Moivaro Foundation School" (2008)

PAST PROJECTS:

Our first project included the building of the Moivaro Foundation School. We raised over $25,000 and enlisted the help of Thompson Akyoo, a local Tanzanian. We wire transferred money to Thompson in small increments and made sure we received photos of the construction progress and copies of receipts before we sent more money. In order to ensure sustainability, we worked with the local women to develop a way in which they could create revenue that would provide funds for the ongoing costs of the school. They are in the process of opening two storefronts that are down the road from Moivaro Foundation School.
